Simple! Ruins are, well, ruined buildings, structures, or other man-made marks found in random locations within Earth where you can find loot, shelter, stories, and other helpful things! Ruins are claimable, therefore any ruin you find could become your faction's base! There are a few different types of ruins: Homestead, Military, Trade, Trade ships, War ships, Temples, and Death Bases.
Ruin-type details
Homestead:
Homestead ruins are fairly basic ruins that include normally everyday items, such as tools, food, farming items, animal care, health care, enchanting, sell-able items.. Not all homestead ruins include every single one of these.
Homestead ruins commonly come in the shape of houses, crisis shelters, farms, suburban/urban buildings (i.e. Schools, Hair Salon).
Military:
Military ruins are usually military bases, armories, barracks, courtyards, and penitentiaries. They almost always carry either modern weaponry (such as guns, explosives, technological traps, etc.) or medieval weaponry (swords, bows, battleaxes, explosives, raiding devices and machines, etc.) They also can be a good ruin to use as a base, considering they are commonly made out of strong materials.
Trade:
Things such as old stores, markets, medical centers, or informal trading areas. Can commonly include items such as main trades (see factions help) ores, valuable materials and sometimes weaponry, antiques, rare unique items, and other peculiar trinkets.
Trade ships:
See factions help.
War ships:
Similar to military ruins, but in boat form. Commonly contains things like modern/medieval weaponry, some trade items, unique/rare items.
Temples:
Peculiar and sometimes eerie, Temple ruins could be anything from a Christian church to a strange unknown spiritual shrine, meeting place, or church, to a satanist camp (Don't get all offended, these things exist in real life, therefore the exist in the game). Temple ruins are usually above ground and commonly include enchanting items (enchanting tables, enchanted books, rare/unique items that are commonly enchanted with rare enchantments (such as a staff with infinity 100, fortune 1000, and a fancy name and fancy lore. These are valuable). Can also include books, bookshelves, homestead items, and rarely weapons (unless it's something like a satanist camp)
Death Bases:
Bases left behind by the infamous deaths, usually fortified, dangerous, trapped, but a good place to use as a base. Can include powerful and dangerous medieval weaponry, cursed and creepy mysterious items, rare/unique items with fancy lore, enchantments, and name (once again, these are valuable). Can often include death swords, the item you obtain when killing a death.
